Hi Bin, appreciate your feedback.
Looking at your job, it seems pretty specialised - ie reinstalling a solar inverter.... Some jobs are easy to give a quote without seeing the job and other jobs need the contractor to ask specific questions. This is a pretty specialised area so I can understand why there were not so many responses and also why a sensible electrician could not give you a set price just from the job description without actually seeing the wall or the unit. If you were to try us again - some more details on the job posting would help such as:
- model number of the inverter
- a photo of the wall and the inverter
This would give the contractors more information to give you specific pricing.

Avoid ServiceSeeking, full of dodgy and unlicenced builders
Utterly useless. Out of the 8 quotes I got, only 1 gave a price. The rest faked a "phone quote" option. Out of all the responses, 90% were dodgy backyard builders. I googled 1 of the responses and he...

Hi James,
I hear what your saying but let me explain a few things about the site. Your tiling job that you posted was very clearly worded but in order for some of the businesses to give you an accurate quote - they needed more information (ie type of tiles you wanted etc) - if you look at the chat messages they are asking you for more details so they can provide a price. They are not 'faked' quotes -they just need more information or a site visit so they can get you an accurate price.
In terms of our vetting process. All our businesses in tiling require an ABN.
The other checks and badges they can get are :
- license checks
-police checks
- insurance
If they have not completed their ID check we warn customers that this is incomplete and be wary hiring them.
In terms of court visits for a particular business - please can you email the details of this business to adam@serviceseeking.com.au as if they are a 'dodgy' business we certainly do not want them to continue on our site.

Very unprofessional, the first person who call to get the job done did call very quickly but took 3 hours to respond after that, he said he be here at 1pm and arrived at 4pm.

Hi Paul,
That's strange as this is the business showing on your job post. I suppose, next time, maybe just wait a little longer before choosing a business so you get to see more quotes. Most jobs get around 5 quotes to choose from.
