Thank you for your feedback. We're always looking to optimise the code so we'll see if we can make some improvements in this area. For the shading option you can enable the standard Excel row & column headers which highlight the row and column. This should go some way to achieving what you've described. In the new versions of Excel this is under View > Headings (ensure you check the box). I hope this helps! Kind regards David Hartley Director

The Staff Leave Planner is a management information system that allows you to track, manage and report on employee leave / absence across your calendar year, effectively replacing a traditional wallchart calendar. The planner is written in Excel and saved as an Excel workbook, so there's no installation process and all of the data is under your control. Setting up your planner is simple, you just add your staff details to the Employee Data sheet and then plot your staff holiday / staff leave on the calendar worksheets. The planner will automatically calculate all of the leave taken, and also determine the amount of leave remaining.
