Prior to your renewal date, our team discussed the alternative quotations you were obtaining and agreed to contact you again before cover expired. Two attempts were made to reach you on 31 July, but unfortunately we were unable to make contact. By the time we next spoke, the previous policy had lapsed and the insurer therefore required a new policy to be issued, despite the cover remaining on the same basis. We'd also like to clarify that there was no additional fee charged for renewing after your policy expired. Policies completed online benefit from a discounted administration fee, whereas policies arranged over the phone are subject to our standard administration fee due to the additional work involved. We also honoured the premium originally offered at renewal despite the policy having lapsed. We appreciate your frustration regarding the difference between the original renewal invitation and the amount quoted after the policy had lapsed, and we're sorry that this left you feeling dissatisfied.
