Add in Pale Ale and the amount of sugar in the beer mash rose to the required level, it did not affect the taste of the beer

Brewing sugar gives you a clear finish and a truer beer taste. I've used granulated sugar for years. It's a bit more expensive using brewing sugar but it's worth the while for the taste
