Portuguese Laurel is a beautiful evergreen plant that has glossy green leaves all year round. The small delicate flowers that bloom in the summer are extremely popular with butterflies and bees. In autumn the leaves turn brown when the plants become dormant for the winter. The plants hold onto these leaves and in spring lots of healthy leaves push through again. Hi, Thank you so much for your feedback. I am sorry to hear 2 x of your Oleaster failed. To quality for the 12 month plant guarantee you need to have purchased Root Grow and 1 other feed, such as Bonemeal or Seaweed. As these hadn't been on your original I can see my colleague raised a credit note to help towards the cost of your 2 x replacements. I do hope they are settling into their new home and I hope your hedge is now complete. Oleaster have dark green leaves and as the plants mature silver speckles will appear on the leaves, and they will also have a rougher texture when you touch them. Your plants will have creamy/white flowers in autumn, and then orange fruits will push through in spring to feed hungry birds. So extra wildlife should hopefully be coming into your garden soon. And I hope they are settling into their new home. Rosa Rugosa is a hardy, native plant. As it is deciduous it will lose its leaves over autumn/winter, and in spring lots of healthy green leaves push through. In summer they will produce pink flowers that will attract lots of butterflies and bees and after flowering you will see rosehip fruits appear that will feed lots of hungry birds. So extra wildlife should hopefully be coming into your garden soon.
