I have taken on board the above comments but I can assure you that talking to other Mothers you are leaving out a huge raft of people who want a simple non-clumpy black lace-up and are equally frustrated. I did actually attempt to get new shoes at the end of August 08 but they had sold out at my local Russell and Bromley and the local independent shop. they were very frustrated they could not get the stock and said it was ridiculous that it was not available. I only used the website in desperation as I prefer to have shoes fitted. The lack of stock leads to panic in August. It is simply not practical to buy school shoes too early when children can spend a lot of time in bare feet causing their feet to grow and change the most at this time of year. I would have thought, given the current recession, that this was a boom market and Startrite as one of two main manufacturers should be able to predict how many pairs of shoes are required. I actually feel very irritated and angry that there are no size 6E shoes available anywhere. It is irresponsible of Startrite not to produce, even a limited range, throughout the year.
