We're glad to hear you enjoyed your stay overall. In relation to your feedback about the beds, it wasn't our experience last time we stayed at the property nor have past guests raised this issue with us, however, this doesn't mean to say your experience isn't being taken seriously as we were really sorry to hear you found the mattresses disagreeable. In light of your feedback we thought it would be helpful to get an understanding of the age of the beds and mattresses so asked Kate, the owner, to confirm this, her response of which is below: "I have not had a single complaint about beds for years. All of the mattresses have been replaced in the past 2 years, most of the bases have been replaced as well – except the twin in room 7 as they wont fit back down the stairs. They have had new mattresses though. I wish the guests had mentioned it during their stay as I could have tried to find a solution for them . *bar the two in bedroom 2 as they are bespoke Antique beds – but mattresses are excellent and we have put mattress toppers on them this yearThe house does have some old radiators and the biomass heating runs 24/7 ( thermostatically controlled ) Unfortunately the central heating isn’t fitted in a majority of the bedrooms ( only 1-3 are off the boiler ) the rest are all heated by electric heaters which can be turned on or off or controlled by thermostat fitted to the heater. We did have to go in and show these guests how the thermostats worked in the communal living areas".
