Item damaged when received by the buyer. I had difficulty in raising a complaint and therefore did not pursue a refund. I'll not use this service again

Many thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback. We're sorry to hear your item arrived damaged. We can see you added the description of goods as "fragile". Parcel networks are not well suited to fragile items, as I'm sure you can now understand.
The parcels are in and out of vehicles, along conveyor belts and it's mostly an automated process. If a heavier box falls onto your box, it's at risk of damage. We would always recommend packaging your items as securely as possible with 2-3 inches of internal packaging, no items moving around inside the box and a thick double walled cardboard box as the outer container. You should be able to drop your box from waist height and expect no damage.
You booked your shipment with UPS, one of the best carriers in the industry. Unfortunately this damage is likely to have happened with any carrier you chose when booking with us, or any other company. There's no substitute for packaging I'm afraid.
I can't see any details of your phone call, if you did actually contact us to let us know your item had arrived damaged. There would have been no difficulty getting through to us, nor in raising a claim, however it does sound like your item was a personal item and there would be no cover at all for loss or damage anyway, with any of the carriers we work with.
Hopefully this experience won't put you off sending parcels, it certainly shouldn't. This would have happened with any carrier, so please do consider phoning us for packaging advice next time you have something to send - we wouldn't want anything else being damaged.

Excellent service, item collected as advised from my home and delivered to address in Ireland within 5working days as promised. Would have no hesitation in using service again.
Excellent service - as usual. The only problem I have is that sometimes I seem to get offered several different options and at other times there are only one or two.
Having said that, every parcel...
Overall great experience. Parcel was lost but the support was excellent and once found the parcel was delivered ok! We were updated on the situation, as was the recipient! I would recommend this...
Very good service. Parcel collected in France on the Monday lunchtime, and received by friend in England on the Wednesday morning. Everything arrived in good condition, no damage to packaging etc....
