The skip that you had initially booked was a 12 yard skip. You later contacted us to raise your concerns on the size skip that had been delivered. We discussed that a 10 yard skip had been delivered in error and agreed that this was our mistake and apologised for the inconvenience this may have caused at the time. In an attempt to rectify our error, we booked your requested exchange at the price of a 10 yard skip as well as a £10.00 discount to ensure you had not been overcharged but also compensated for any inconvenience. Regarding your comments made on the rubble in the skip, 12 yard skips are designed for light waste only, this is due to health and safety reasons and ensuring our drivers our adhering to the legal carrying weight limit on roads. The second skip received on exchange was a 12 yard skip however, as explained at the time of your call, all of our skips are produced by different manufacturers and therefore, will appear slightly different to all measurements on our website. You will also find that our website confirms all measurements are “approximate” due to these reasons. I can however, ensure that all skips despite appearing differently, hold the same cubic capacity by being either wider with slightly shorter sides or taller with slightly less width, ultimately all holding the same amount of waste.As discussed at the time, we never shied away from our mistake however did try our utmost to rectify the unfortunate situation and ensure you were refunded a fair and generous amount, which is why we also refunded – as a gesture of goodwill - £50.00. In addition to this, we are aware that the skip remained on site for 3 months without movement, this is longer than our standard hire period however, due to the circumstances we were happy to agree to the skip remaining on site until it was full and did not introduce any rental charges as per our T&C’s state. I can confirm that your comments made on supplying smaller skips than ordered intentionally is not true and we were extremely upset to learn that this had happened to you. We always offer the best possible prices as well as ensuring all customers are receiving an exceptional level of service. After last speaking to you and confirming that the refund had been processed, we were led to believe that you were satisfied with the outcome. It is a shame to learn that when the skip was delivered there was a small amount of soil and cement in your skip. Something Norris is extremely proud of is its 99.9% divert from landfill figure therefore, this wouldn't have been previously taken to landfill sites. Sometimes this occurs when skips are kept in stacks and waste from previous sites has set to the skip at the time of tipping. We always go out of our way to ensure every customer is happy so if this was brought to our attention at the time of delivery, we would have changed this over for you without a doubt.
