We sent this customer a free sample in Brindisi 1005, measuring 11cm square approx. This was enough to show the colour, texture and part of the design. This particular fabric has a pattern repeat of 53cm and is a large trailing floral. With the best will in the world, no fabric company can afford to send out free samples showing the whole repeat in any large design. Put another way, were we to do this we would probably need to double our selling prices to cover the enormous on-costs involved. Free sample cuttings are the first step in the ordering process. Seeing a sample tells the customer if, in broad terms, the colour and texture are in the right area. In the case of plain fabrics this is normally enough to make an informed choice. For larger designs, we show a full repeat image on site to give as much of an idea as we can. If possible we also show designs made up on furniture. We also offer a jumbo sample service - for £9.00 customers can order a large strip measuring 130cm x 25cm which is enough to see the repeat.
