We try very hard to ensure that the images shown on site are as close as possible to the real thing. However it is inevitable that some fabrics will be a closer representation than others. Fabrics which have a pile (such as velvets which is what happened in this case) or have a surface crush/sheen are harder to get right than others because they have many facets which can never be conveyed in a simple image. The other point to consider here is that different monitors and browser settings can influence how colours appear, as does the medium used (desktop, tablet etc).
