As discussed, we act as agents of the carriers, and we have to follow their fare rules. In this case the fare type booked was non-refundable once travel commenced, although we did make an application to the airline just in case they could assist.
It's unfortunate that you didn't spot that you had inadvertently booked the wrong return date before you left the UK, as the outcome would have been very different. We appreciate that this can happen now and again and our customer services staff will do their utmost to try to resolve things with the airline if any errors are brought to our attention. For this reason we strongly recommend that customers check their email booking confirmations immediately upon receipt, as it's much easier to address any anomalies if they are spotted early.
