I am very sorry that your experience of Hiscox fails to meet your expectations, or in this case, our own high standards of service excellence. I have looked into the specifics of your online experience, and have drawn the following conclusions: It seems that the initial quotation was for Office Buildings insurance, at which point several un-wanted covers were de-selected and Public Liability was added. The previously removed covers were automatically reinstated by the website and again manually removed. This caused the quotation to be re-generated by the system, which resulted in a quotation for only Public Liability. I can fully understand and appreciate that this is not the insurance cover that you originally requested – hence your dis-satisfaction. Upon contacting our call centre agent, our standard process was followed, which requires a 30 day cancellation notice when the cancellation falls outside of the standard 14 day cooling off period. I can understand why you would view this as unacceptable, and as a result I have arranged for the policy to be cancelled with effect from its original start/ inception date, including a full refund of any premium. We have called today in order to discuss this, and to offer our apologies. I will also work with our Product Head to review the specifics of the website behaviour in the circumstances you experienced to ensure that the journey is clear and unambiguous. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience that you have experienced.
