Thank you so much for your very kind comments. We're always very happy to do some detective work to help find the right property for you.
At the moment, we do have a lot more choice in Devon and Cornwall than in Dorset. Having said that, our portfolio is ever changing and I'll certainly let our property managers know that more properties in Dorset would be appreciated. Our email newsletters will often provide a summary of new properties; if you don't receive them already, they may be a handy, interesting snapshot of Helpful Holidays options.

We opt for one third of the holiday cost because the prices of our cottages vary drastically. A hundred pounds or so might be appropriate for some properties but others can cost several thousand pounds for a week long booking. In these cases, I'm afraid £100 would be insufficient to hold the booking, unless it were a holding deposit over a year ahead of time.
You're correct that there's no option to pay the deposit immediately on the website. The deposit amount is quoted at the time of booking but all bookings taken on the website are initially provisional. This allows our experienced team to cast an eye over them and make sure that everything is alright. If necessary, like in the cases of pets, unusual changeover days, or last minute bookings, it allows us to get in touch with the homeowners and confirm that the booking can go ahead before any funds are taken. If we have your email address, we then send an email which allows you to pay online if your phone call is unnecessary.
