Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. I do read the comments made by guests both in the visitor’s book and on this site. I have endeavoured to address issues as they arise and have been pleased to note from comments in the visitors book that this is acknowledged. Inevitably, as with all properties some repairs do need to be carried out from time to time, due to general wear and tear .The problem with the lighting was caused by a loose wire in the switch which has been repaired and all lights have been checked. With regard to the road noise, the property is situated in the heart of Stow on the Wold, which is very popular with visitors. I am afraid that inevitably the benefit of being within such close walking distance of the shops restaurants and other amenities that the town has to offer must be offset by a certain amount of road noise, but I do not think it could be considered on a par with a motorway! The cottage is not directly on the main road, there is a good sized, well stocked garden in between and the cottage itself is double glazed. As to the reference to “clutter”, I do not accept that a book case can be described as clutter. I appreciate that some previous reviews and comments in the visitor’s book have offered the opinion that they consider the property to have too many personal touches; this is a matter of personal taste. The style of the cottage is apparent from the photographs on the website. It is a small, cosy cottage and I have tried to promote that that atmosphere by presenting the cottage by providing books, games and other touches that I hope will make guests feel at home. I am sorry if such an environment is not to your own taste and I appreciate that other holiday cottages will be of a very different size and style which you may find more suitable for you. I can confirm that pets are not accepted into the property and I have not been made aware of any complaints of the cottage smelling of dog, it certainly has not done so when I have carried out inspections.
