We have always had very good comments on the teachers to date so were surprised and very sorry to hear you were clearly unhappy with the course. The school staff tell us that the teacher you had is known to be one of their best, especially for the Beginner course in which you were placed.
In any class the teacher has to achieve a balance so that all students are able to follow the lesson and actively participate. Some students may be slower in grasping a point or shy when expressing themselves, whilst others are faster. The teacher has to allow everyone time to think and absorb information. We’re sorry you found the pace of this process frustrating. If you felt that the class wasn’t working for you, we really wish you had decided to talk to us in the UK or to the staff in Germany whilst on the course, and a change of class level could have been arranged. This may well have solved the issue. The staff would have been happy to assist. Past students have easily done so when someone doesn’t feel they fit into a certain class level or would prefer to change to another teacher.
We email everyone from the UK in the first couple of days on a course to ensure all is going smoothly and to open up a communication channel in case there are any issues, but having reviewed your response to our email there was no indication of any difficulties so we assumed all was well. It is a real shame that you didn’t contact us again during the course to explain you were unhappy. The staff in the UK and Germany would have done all they could to ensure appropriate changes were made and hopefully then provide you with a better experience.
