Yes we loved the fact we could walk to Calunga for the shops and also to the lovely beach. We also walked to La Isla along the coastal path from the house. By the way the print out map which came with the house instructions needs revising. It took us all around the houses including along a grassy track. In fact it's a really straightforward drive of a few minutes into Calunga.

Sorry about the mice but, as you say, there is always some risk they'll find a way into the house in rural locations - try as the owners might! - we're glad they don't seem to have upset you too much. The property isn't among our cheaper cottages but the location - a short walk to one of Asturias' finest beaches, with all the facilities of Colunga and Lastres just nearby and the mountains tumbling down behind - is one of the best (and most sought after by those-in-the-know) on the north coast. We also feel that the decor and space at La Guadesa is also a 'cut-above' the usual offering, particularly among smaller properties, all of which we think justifies a higher price. We're sorry you found it a little expensive but very glad to hear that you seem to have had a good holiday experience overall.

We loved the fact we could walk into Calunga to the shops and also to the lovely beach. We also walked to La Isla from the house along the coastal path. The map that came with the house instructions needs revising. It takes you all around the houses including along a grassy track when in fact it's a straightforward drive of a few minutes from Calunga.

A great country house hotel. Service superb but not overdone. The restaurant for dinner is a treat especially the imaginative starters. Extensive breakfast covers all tastes and diets.
