From the owner:
“Thank-you Jan for such a warm welcome, a very generous selection of edible goodies and drinkies, and for all of your thoughtful touches in the cottage, which has been an excellent base for a great week’s sojourn in sunny Suffolk. We dipped into an array of good things while here:
- boating on the river (Liz-cox to negotiate vegetation; Dave – oarsman)
- the North Sea at Aldeburgh for a swim (Dave is made of strong stuff)
- Many fine walks including circular walk to Easton and from Framlingham and Wickham Market; Snape Maltings to Iken Church and 7 miles of very varied farmland around Sutton Hoo (lovely to see so many free-range pigs and totally fascinating Anglo-Saxon exhibition).
- the world of commuting (Dave took the train into London for a meeting)
- marvelous little Coops for supplies
- various books in your fine library
- your church garden fete
- pleasant hostelries for refreshments
All in all a lovely relaxing holiday in a pretty, tranquil, gentle and gentile part of England”.
Thank-you for your kind comments left in our visitors’ book. I’m sorry you subsequently chose to give a Bad rating following retention of your deposit (the only one we have ever held). I’m even more sorry that our treasured antique dresser still bears the iron burn mark (your deposit no where near covers the repair cost) – why could you not have used the ironing board.......?!
