Dear Mr Hadjigeorgi, Thank you for getting in touch with us. We're sorry to hear you didn't feel as though the start date of our new policy was made clear to you and that you received your continuation of cover offer a few weeks after you'd left your company. Unfortunately there are often delays between employees leaving company schemes and companies letting us know. This is a big part of the reason why we allow this grace period for corporate leavers. It means you can avoid having a gap in your cover and continue the terms of your policy so you can claim for any on-going conditions straight away, even within the period between you leaving your company scheme and taking out a plan with us. Without this grace period, we would need to review the underwriting on your plan and you would not be able to claim for any existing conditions.
