We are sorry that a few of your plants have died and as we have a 12 month guarantee on all our plants a replcement order was sent. Purple/Copper is a natural occuring variation in Beech and the density of colour varies from dark purple to a more purple tinted dark green. Towards autumn the leaves on a Green Beech plant will tend towards a yellow/brown colour where as the Purple Beech leaves will tend to go a dark green colour before turning brown. Environmental factors will also have a bearing on the colour, for example the more sun your plants get the darker the leaves will be. If you look at a Copper Beech hedge that has the lower leaves in the shade these leaves will not be as dark purple as the leaves that receive full sun.
