We are glad you like your item but sorry to hear you weren't happy with our service. I have checked your invoice and can confirm that the VAT charged is correct. The shipping charge carries VAT too so from your £8.90, £1.49 goes to the tax man. While your parcel was indeed light, it was too thick to be posted as a letter so was shipped as a parcel. We have a fixed rate from Royal Mail for parcels up to 2kg which is just about covered by the shipping cost you pay. (we subsidise shipping costs by at least £4 per item for heavier parcels and offer free shipping on many items where our margins allow. Orders over £100 are currently postage free). I know it must seem frustrating to pay shipping on an inexpensive item but we still have to pay the postman regardless. Our margin on your purchase ends up at way less than £1 once card fees, packing, staff time and fuel surcharges are taken off. . We received your order after close of business on the Thursday so your order was shipped out on the Friday and should have reached you two working days later i.e. on the Monday. The tracking information confirms this. We appreciate that you used a small independent business for your purchase and know you always have choices about where to buy.
