Good but flawed
The mortar had two complete circumferential scratches on the rim caused by the engraving. This part never should have been shipped. Apparently there is no QC in place. I needed to accept the order...

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The engraving process is a sandblast etch, and it is not possible to leave scratches or marks during engraving. The mark on the rim of the mortar is most likely a polish mark from the fabrication process of the items. These are solid marble pieces that are cut and polished from the stone, and will have small marks, flaws and scratches where the craftsman polished or worked over the piece.These marks and flaws are considered part of the production process, and are not considered defects.
