Further to our subequent conversation when we discussed the reason for your one star feedback on this hotel. We note this was based on the events following the unfortunate cancellation of your original sailing by Condor Ferries due to adverse weather and as such, you had not stayed at this hotel at the time of leaving your review.. We are very sorry that weather prevented you travelling and it was necessary to postpone your break. My colleague, Vicky, had lengthy discussions with you at the time of the cancellation trying to assist with alternative options and thank you for acknowledging her efficiency in dealing with the matter. As discussed, the hotel was not able to offer a refund as they were unable to resell the room. Unfortunately weather is an “an act of God” and with situations like this, it would be normal for clients to claim on their travel insurance. As with many hotels we work with, the Ambassadeur management made a gesture of goodwill and agreed to switch your booking to another date, which is what you eventually agreed to do. The original September date was the same price as the October date, hence there was no refund due. We very much hope the weather conditions were much kinder on your October dates and that you enjoyed your break. Now you have returned home, if you feel able to update your feedback and comment on your actual stay at the Ambassadeur that would be most helpful to future customers thinking of booking this accommodation.We thank you for booking with Condorbreaks and we hope that you decide to book with us again in the future. Further to our conversation this morning, we understand it was the decor that you objected to and that there were no other issues with the hotel that you wanted us to follow up on. Thank you for confirming that the food was fine, the hotel was clean and comfortable and there were no issues with the staff. It's first hand information such as this which is most helpful to potential holidaymakers who may be considering booking this hotel. We have reviewed the images on our website and feel that they do accurately reflect the style of the hotel. The Apollo is one of our better value three star hotels and it offers very competitive prices. We are obviously disappointed that this hotel did not meet your expectations and if you wanted to book in the future, we would welcome the opportunity to speak to you on the phone so we may have the opportunity to discuss your requirements with you and assist in finding a hotel more suited to your needs. Our reservations team are open seven days a week and they visit the hotels regularly so have an extensive knowledge of the Channel Islands.
