Bear roots are dispatched during their dormant state so can often look dead on arrival. We are confident the Apple Bramley will burst into life once the warmer weather arrives, which hopefully is just around the corner. It has been almost 7 weeks now since I planted my bare root trees. Still no sign of life. I contacted customer service by email and they suggested “your plant may just be dormant”! I have never known any bare root tree or shrub to remain dormant after 6 weeks in the ground in the middle of May! It would appear that no refund is forthcoming and after many years of my custom I will not be purchasing from Thompson Morgan ever again.

Eventually they agreed to refund my 3 bare root trees. However, they didn’t refund postage so I ended up paying £12.98 for 5 petunia postiplugs!

We are sorry that the plants did not perform as expected and that they did not wake from dormancy as expected. As you had other items on your order and you only get charged one postage charge no matter how many items are on your order, the postage would not be automatically refunded and we apologise for the disappointment. Moved dispatch date a month forward and information as to when was dispatched was slow, Quality of Apple Tree purchased was very poor have seen better quality in supermarkets for less cost.
