I am sorry that you have been disappointed with the item. The Solar Buzzkill will only work while not charging, we would recommend attaching the item to a wall or similar service to prevent it from charging, in which time the item will work as intended. It can then be moved to a window when you need to charge it. I am sorry that was not made clear, but I do hope that this is helpful. Kind regards, Ryan

these only light up at night so all the bugs and flies that come in during the day fly around and annoy you untill you close the doors and windows.Then the next morning they are all dead on the floor

These don't work when they're charging unfortunately, so the Buzzkill will only work when the solar panel is not picking up any light, such as night time or when the panel is covered. To use during the day, take down from where it is being charged, such as a window and place on an opaque surface such as a table or wall. I hope this helps :) Kind regards, Natalie.

It lights up, but I've not seen or heard it zap anyof the flies that have been whizzing round, and there are no corpses in the trap at the bottom.
