The Excalibur Dehydrator features five removable polycarbonate BPA free stackable inserts that are dishwasher safe for your convenience. These trays allow for continuous airflow around the ingredients, and with the adjustable thermostat, you get the best drying results. Different ingredients need different drying times and temperatures, for example, meat needs a much high temperature to kill bacteria whilst fruit and vegetables need a lower temperature, which helps preserve their enzymatic value. The Excalibur 5-tray Stackable Food Dehydrator can bring a lot to your kitchen and can produce a range of dehydrated foods, including jerky, dried herbs, dried fruit and fruit leather. The appliance comes with an adjustable thermostat, that ranges between 35°C - 74°C, this temperature will cover a whole host of ingredients. Another great aspect of the 5 Tray Stackable is the built-in safety cut out, which stops the dehydrator from overheating. With polypropylene trays you don’t have to worry about corrosion or your food absorbing the taste of the plastic, so you can enjoy rich original flavours. The 5 tray stackable has a completely different design to other Excalibur models as its much more streamlined with curved edges, making it easier to fit on your countertop. With a dimension of just 33.1 cm x 31.6 cm it still offers almost 5 square feet of drying area across 5 stacking trays, which is ideal if you don’t plan on bulk drying. Overall, this device has a lot of functionality in a very compact design that runs incredibly quietly. The device also comes with a few accessories to get you started. These include 4 yoghurt cups, 2 drying sheets and 5 flexible mesh tray inserts.
