Designed by Freeman Lau, characters selected from the Museum’s collection of priceless calligraphic works are arranged on six rings girdling the caddy’s body which, when rotated, match the names of the four famous Chinese teas on its lid; Dongfang Meiren, Tie Guanyin, Longjing and Dongding Wulong. Freeman Lau, a founding partner of Hong Kong’s Kan and Lau Design Consultants, is a graphic designer and fine artist, a frequent speaker at international design forums, and the recipient of the HKSAR government’s Bronze Bauhinia Star in recognition of his contributions in enhancing the identity of Hong Kong design.
