What a pity you didn't enjoy your stay at Paleros as much as you had hoped but I hope you'll agree that our resort managers did their best to manage your expectations. You haven't mentioned, for instance, that Natasha upgraded your accommodation to a suite when you weren't happy to be in two separate rooms - which you had booked. Fresh water is available at mealtimes but you're right, we don't encourage the filling of water bottles in the restaurant because pressing bottle necks against the water nozzle is a potential hygiene issue. And food and drink are always going to be less expensive in the local village because they aren't being served in a styling Mark Warner resort with difference price bases, taxes, service, staff, etc. You contacted head office before speaking to Natasha or Alice about the bikes; they found you and sorted that situation out for you. Mind you, I do have to make clear that the bikes aren't poorly maintained, some do require maintenance after heavy usage but we can't guarantee that guests will always be able to have bikes on demand. You'll recall that Natasha checked in with you for the rest of the week and you said everything was good.
Finally, we would never allow guests - many if not most of whom don't have extensive sailing or other waterfront experience - to take craft outside of the sailing area. To allow this would be dangerous and I'm sorry if you believe this policy is unfair because we think it's the right way to operate. Best wishes, Gordon Spence, Head of Customer Services
