Very bright LED light. Comments By the German optical company Schweizer, absolutely top quality. For the partially-sighted this is a medium-size illuminated magnifier, a good compromise between high magnification and (relatively) small size, and slightly lower magnification and (relatively) large size. Super-crisp vision, bright LED light. Not only suitable for the partially-sighted (for general reading, this is particularly powerful) but also good for stamps and coins; prints, paintings and photos; textiles etc. The photo of what you will see through the lens is a 'true' photo, it has not been enhanced (i.e. the text really does appear that large and that clear). Field of view and magnification are connected, that's the way handheld lenses work, there is no choice, it's a 'rule' of optics, the higher the magnification the narrower the field of view.  Price/availability Why is the price is so low? (the retail price is £62.00). Because we bought a 'job lot' of Schweizer magnifiers from a large company - they bought them from Schweizer (i.e. these ARE genuine!) then decided not to deal in optics.
