Summary A "10X" magnification lens folds out from on end (18mm diameter); "20X" from the other end (12mm diameter) - but the actual magnifications are not as marked. Too see reviews of loupes, click here and then scroll down to see the difference between this and an identical-looking loupe at a five times the price. Detail The 10X magnification lens is, in reality, about 7X and the 20X is, in reality, about 10X. Also, neither are triplet lenses. At our stand at the Kempton fair this is clearly explained, but people tend to believe what is printed on the magnifier rather than me - and we sell quite a few of these. Even at 7X and 10X, you get a lot of lens for your money, so you could say this loupe is 'good value'...but definitely not good quality. Technical Magnification / lens size in mm: one end is a "10X18" loupe and the other end is a "20X12" loupe - or so it's marked, it's not actually this powerful, and the lenses are not triplet lenses. Lens material: glass Lens type: each magnifier is made of a single lens Type: jewelers' loupe (small, pocket-size, folds into its metal casing) Origin / brand: we import these from China Casing: metal Finish: chrome Presentation / extras: fitted plastic box Further information Everything you need to know about magnifiers and magnification. See information about (and reviews of) loupes (small high-power folding jewellers' magnifiers). See information about (and reviews of) binocular (head-worn) magnifiers- especially the surgeons-type. See a guide to magnifiers for the partially-sighted. See loupes with UV lights. Video (electronic) magnifiers, video magnifiers compared. Products: see pocket microscopes and phone microscopes, click here. With most magnifiers* magnification and working distance are related. Download our Excel sheet, enter a magnification to see the resulting working distance, enter a working distance to see the resulting magnification. * excluding surgeons-type, digital & phone magnifiers, and microscopes.
