It is soft and not to hard or soft it is just right.It I'd like you have a real pony but you don't that I'd how much it feels like a real one well it is but smaller.
My daughter loves it! She is horse (and Harlow) obsessed so this was the perfect gift. I do think they are a little pricey for a "toy", but I bought it anyway.
Works really well but came with a brush brissle missing and was scratched. Just came in bad condition.
