Of course purist would only purchase a Laguiole Knife from Forge de Laguiole as this is the only company producing knives in the village of Laguiole. Since the Laguiole knife is nowadays increasing in popularity, producers from around the globe eagerly make use of the unprotected brand name. The knives you have purchased are from the Supplier Sabatier. These are mass produced to meet a price point. More expensive Laguiole knives are hand-made, shaped and finished. I hope this explains the difference for you more clearly and clear up that these are neither "fake" or "not genuine"
