Spec'd up by our very own Captain Anderton and Danish Pete, these gorgeous instruments feature all of the design features and physical traits that would make a Tele purist fall in love! Before we spec’d up these custom shops, we sent the serial number of his guitar to the Fender Custom Shop so that we could find out the exact spec and base our these Teles on it. He swears by his and so do we!Classic Tonewood CombinationA wise man once said: "A guitar is only as good as the wood it’s built from." We requested specifically chosen lightweight Ash for these guitars, the same as the very first solid-body electrics back in the '50s. They’ve also got single-piece, quartersawn Maple necks to ensure you get that classic '52 Tele twang and spank.The neck features a chunky '52-style profile with a more modern 9.5” radius. This means it fills out the palm but still feels like a breeze to play. The frets are narrow and tall which means you’ll never struggle with those big bends, even if you prefer to use heavier gauges. To top it all off, you've got a Nitro Cellulose lacquer finish all over. Lee & Pete also toned down the relic process slightly, particularly with forearm wear - the perfect balance between iconic Fender design and used-and-abused!Ultimate Tele PickupsIn the bridge position you’ve got the 51 Nocaster pickup, known for its hot, bright attack. The essence of everything that a Tele bridge pickup should be.In the neck position, the Twisted Tele pickup provides you with a smooth, rounded tone, with a slightly accentuated attack thanks to the Ash & Maple tonewood combo.
