Dave Hollingworth is known for laying down the low-end alongside Rabea Massaad, Ben Minal and Rob Chapman in prog-metallers Dorje. Also an accomplished drummer, guitarist and producer, his style is recognisable as percussive, vibrant and laden with attitude. It's only fitting, therefore, that his signature model with Chapman Guitars features some serious design tweaks!Body & NeckA combination of Ovangkol and Mappa Burl is used for the body wood. It's known for sharing tonal properties with Rosewood, but offering a little more brightness in the midrange and treble frequencies. This perfectly complements modern playing styles, with plenty of attack and clarity .The neck uses Wenge with Ovangkol stripes - again, this provides plenty of attack and a pronounced resonance. The fretboard also uses Wenge, which makes for a unified sound. The whole instrument has an oiled finish, which not only looks great, but lasts long and feels comfy too. Electronics & Hardware2 x Bartolini 9CBJD-S1/L1 Jazz single coils provide the tonal depth and character that perfectly sums up Dave's style. These passive pickups take the unique, sparkling tonewood combo and mould it into a punchy tone that'll cut through any mix. Black hardware, including brass saddles and modern Chapman tuners, completes the picture. This bass is wholly modern, but the woods used give it a beautiful organic appearance - the best of both worlds.
