very nice aluminum needles, yarn moves quite smoothly. I have never tried using 5 double pointed needles before but it was an easy and smooth transition. I am using the size 5 needles now for mittens...

I hope you'll find that the more you knit, the easier aluminum needles with be to use, but the material of knitting needles is largely just personal preference.
