Thank you for getting back in touch. I am sorry if anyone has inferred that you shouldn’t read other materials as it is not our policy to discourage students from additional study or research. However, the content of the course material is dictated by the Awarding Organisation (NALP) as they set the assignments, based on the course material that they send us, and which is designed to ensure that students do not NEED to do additional study if they do not wish to. The assignments and course material are updated by the awarding organisation who then pass these to us. Because we work closely with them, we have some input into the reviews and so know the issues around the time it takes to get these done, etc. but when content is reviewed and how assignments are set are, for the most part, out of our hands. NPC is an approved centre of the awarding organisation and we do not make any assessment decisions or mark any assignments. All we receive from the awarding organisation are the marks. Where learners contact us asking for feedback on their assignment, we inform them that feedback is not provided by the awarding organisation. This is not unusual for some qualifications, for instance, students do not receive feedback on their GCSEs or A-Levels. However, NPC can, and does, offer tutorial support to students and can advise them where they may have possibly gone wrong, based on our knowledge of the content and the assignments, particularly on matters of assignment technique. We cannot provide you with specific feedback on where you might have lost marks on an assignment as we do not have that information. Whilst we empathise with your frustrations in respect of feedback from assignments, this is, unfortunately, out of our hands. We have passed your comments onto the Awarding Organisation. Thank you again for your feedback.
