Jojo Jumper and Scarf - Knitting Pattern in Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino

I wanted to knit this jumper for a 4 year old boy of average size. He chest measurement is 24 inches. According to the pattern : 2-3 3-4 4-5 5-6 years FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Chest 69 74 78 83 cm 27¼ 29¼ 30¾ 32½ in a jumper knitted for a 2-3 year old should be more than adequate. Using the 4-5 measurements would produce a jumper that would be far too big. I didn't knit it because I can't be sure of the fit In addition, one needs to buy 8 balls of contrasting colour regardless of size. This wool in not inexpensive and while knitting a scarf would indeed use up the wool, it is hardly a complementary product.
