We are very sorry to hear about the discomfort caused by the lack of air conditioning and window screens during the hot summer months, especially at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal. We completely understand how this affected your comfort and privacy. Please be assured your feedback has been shared with our operations team for further review. Regarding room requests, guests are indeed able to request rooms with a view; however, we cannot guarantee these as room allocations are made by the hotels based on occupancy levels. In some cases, hotels may offer guests the option to pay an upgrade fee for preferred rooms, which would be at the guest's own expense. We also acknowledge your comments about the overnight stays and city selections. We know some guests prefer longer stays, and others enjoy the variety of shorter stops.
