These work best under specific conditions — they're most effective placed in the tank overnight with the lights off, and snails are far more likely to enter if they're not already well fed, so cutting back on feeding for a day beforehand can make a real difference. Fresh bait and giving it a few nights rather than one also tends to improve the catch rate considerably. It may be worth another try with these in mind before writing it off. Thank you for your feedback, and we're glad the quality and quantity hit the mark! The trick with these blister packs is not to thaw the whole thing — that's what turns it into the gooey mess you've described. Instead, flex the pack and pop out a single cube while it's still frozen (pressing from the back of the blister, as you would tablets from a strip), then drop that straight into the tank or a small cup of tank water to thaw on its own. Kept frozen and popped out one at a time, it's far cleaner to handle, so it's well worth another go that way. Kind regards, The Real Aquatics Team
