Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the Pini-Kay briquettes burned more quickly than you expected.
We recommended these as the best option for your open fire mainly because we were uncertain of how strong the draught is in the open fire (compared say to log burners or multifuel stoves which have adjustable draught). These briquettes do in fact light easily and release a lot of heat. Additionally, some customers prefer these for open fires because they look more like real logs than any of our other types of briquettes.
As it seems the draught in your open fire is strong, we can offer a 20kg sample of Premium Larch Heat Logs for only £15 (half the usual price) if you like. These are brick shaped and look less like real logs but are not dried as deeply (to about 7% vs. 3% in the Pini-Kay briquettes) so should burn more slowly.
As far as the price is concerned, based on our market research we believe that £239/full pallet price is the most competitive for this type of briquettes in the UK, especially since it includes free delivery to the Scottish Highlands.
