Hello David, The reason the IRS sent you a check is because all prior year tax refunds are paid by check. Only current year tax refunds can be paid to US bank accounts. Check the IRS information page here that clearly states that only current year refunds are paid by direct deposit and all prior year refunds are paid by check: https://apps.irs.gov/app/vita/content/globalmedia/prior_year_returns_4012.pdf There is an unsubscribe button on all marketing emails, but I'll personally make sure you're removed.
