Breakdown cover is important, both at home in the UK and abroad when driving through Europe. Even the most carefully maintained vehicle can suffer a mechanical breakdown, and the last thing anybody wants is to be left stranded at the roadside. Breakdown cover is designed to to provide assistance when you need it most, from trying to repair the vehicle at the roadside to bringing the vehicle and passengers back home from Europe, our providers offer great cover at low prices. Generally, the starting level of cover will offer basic roadside assistance, where a repair mechanic will come out to the location of your broken down vehicle and spend up to one hour trying to fix the problem at the roadside. If the mechanic is unable to fix the problem, they will then arrange to recover your vehicle, yourself and your passengers to a local garage so that further repairs can be carried out. Once your vehicle reaches the garage, the cost of spare parts and labour are not covered and you will have to pay for these yourself. Some providers may offer a free delivery service for spare parts. If the garage repair will take some time, or you need to wait for parts to be delivered, an onwards travel service is usually available. This means that depending on the circumstances, you and your passengers can either be taken on to your destination, given overnight accomodation, or have a hire car arranged for you until the repairs are completed. Some of our Breakdown Recovery providers offer several levels of cover. This can include an upgrade from local recovery to nationwide recovery, and home start. This will normally give you the same cover as you get with the basic roadside assistance, but without the minimum distance restriction.
