Good afternnon Greth,
It is dissappointing to see you have felt it necessary to downgrade your original review of Gemmas excellent service.
I am unsure if Derek and Ros have communicated clearly with you, we have exchanged over 15 emails advising the following:
1. As your holiday was for 3rd July and currently is unaffected by Government restrictions it would be normal booking conditions for changing the date of travel or cancellation. These conditions being; for cancellation a loss of deposit or a change could be made for £35 (this is a supplier chage due to the date not being affected by the pandemic), we would need to pass this charge onto you as the customer. The booking was not and is not affected, we started to communicate about this on 27th March, July travel dates were not affected then nor are they now. Vulnerable people were advised to stay indoors for 12 weeks which would have taken your party to end of June), July was outside of this 12 weeks therefore the request was class as a normal request to change or cancel.
2. Derek has accused DisabledHolidays.com of having "stolen" your money (the deposit) , this accusation is due to me being unable to refund it. I assured Derek and can assure you Greth that the deposit has been paid to our supplier by the consortium we are part of, deposits are taken at the time of booking, in this case January and are forwarded to our suuplier. All money is safe and bonded by our consortium for all bookings.
3. Our supplier offered to change the date of travel upto 31st December 2021 and this new date would need to be selected by 24th April. Derek continually requested that the date to change be kept open and not be 24th April, our supplier had advised the 24th April as this was several weeks ahead of the original July holiday date., this date has now been moved to 18th May due to the continued lockdown however, your July booking is still not affected by the lockdown or restrictions.
The option to change the date is still available and has been advised to Derek and Ros, should you wish to do this please do let us know on the email address they have been corresponding to.
Kind regards,
