Your Laurels will knit together to create a beautiful dense evergreen hedge. During the spring they produce tiny white flowers that are popular with butterflies and bees and during winter they produce small red berries that hungry birds love. The leaves on all your Beech will have turned brown for autumn/winter 🍁 as the plants are dormant for the winter. The plants will hold onto the leaves and then in spring new leaves will push through. Hawthorn hedging is wonderful for wildlife, supporting over 150 species of insects and a host of native birds. Butterflies and bees are frequent spring visitors and from autumn onwards the red, shiny haws are a good food source for thrushes, blackbirds, blue tits and yellowhammers.
