Its lovely to hear you are pleased with your Privet and Hazel and I hope they are settling into their new home. Privet is a semi-evergreen, which means the plants may lose some or all their leaves during a very chilly winter. In spring lots of new leaves will push through and in the summer they will produce masses of white flowers that will attract lots of butterflies and bees. Hazel is a native, deciduous species, so your plants will have lost their leaves in autumn, but will burst back into leaf and will flower in spring and will eventually produce hazelnuts. So hungry squirrels should hopefully be coming into your garden soon 🐿️. Lonicera Nitida is an evergreen with tiny green leaves 🌿. Your new plants will knit together to form a beautiful dense hedge. They sometimes produce little white flowers in spring, and these will attract pollinating insects, and the dark berries that push through in autumn will feed hungry birds. Hopefully, you have a good mixture of male and female plants, which will ensure the female plants produce lots of berries in winter for you and these berries will attract lots of hungry birds.
