Nice product which arrived very well packaged.
Perhaps a bit pricey so only 4 stars...would be 5 stars if 15 to 20% cheaper.

Hi there, thank you for completing our survey, ans I am sorry to hear you feel this way.
As a business, whilst we may not currently have stock, we can ensure acceptance of orders, especially if the item does not have an edition limit and exceed our order quantity. We do provide full delivery information during the ordering process to ensure you are aware of the potential despatch date, should this get delayed you are updated should the delay exceed 10 days, 20 days for 30 days, which at present can be the case with recent production being ceased by our suppliers.
We feel it is more convenient to allow our customers to place their orders, whether the item is available or not or we are accepting pre-orders, as to only accept orders when stock is available would mean greater inconvenience to our customers as they would have to continually check stock availability to then be able to place their orders, meaning they could miss out especially if the item is set to an edition limit.

Im sorry Bex but I dont buy your argument - you take orders knowing that you are out of stock, on the premise that you will eventually get that stock in - this then can lead to long lead times and as a customer, can assure you that this is NOT preferable against the old fashioned way of if you are out of stock then I am dissappointed and the o'ness is on ME to reorder i.e. the customer has control over the process.
This leads me onto why I put the comment about your company and the Royal Mint. Basically you are another trading arm of the Royal Mint, albeit as a seperate company - your monitoring of sales of any particular coin and "forward orders" are basically a yardstick for the Royal Mint who can then make a decision to Mint more or stop minting that particular coin - this then has an effect on the "value" of that coin going forward.
Coin collecting used to be fun when you could unexpectedly find a rare coin in your change, also in the knowledge that once that coin has been minted there will be no more - your company has basically hi jacked that process has made this "hobby" more of a shopping experience, as have E Bay aswell in fairness to you.

Hi there, whilst I understand where you are coming from, I would have to fall on my personal experience of working with our customer base for over 10 years now, always in Customer Service - now the Customer Service Manager.
In today's immediate world no-one wants to wait for anything, but they certainly do not want to wait to submit orders when stock is unavailable, but knowing we are expecting more stock in, they want to do what they need to do, now!! And if they can't, they will find a place they can.
As a business we try and adapt and offer the best service and options to meet our customers needs.

You are totally missing the point of my argument and I dare say haven’t taken on board my observations about “coin collecting” in general.
You are obviously standing by your guns, and I respect that but I still think that pre ordering is a bad practice, what if you can’t get anymore coins from the mint? What happens then?
A very disappointed customer me thinks
I realise that this is not really being taken on board your end, so let’s agree to disagree
