Hi Carol, I'm sorry to hear your mat is shedding. We do recommend to follow the instructions below which will help you to get the best out of your mat - Washing your mat before use helps to maximise performance by raising the pile once dried Machine or hand wash at 40°C using a colour kind non-biological detergent without bleaching agents/optical brighteners. Do not use fabric conditioner or a combined detergent and conditioner as this will reduce the dirt trapping performance of your mat We recommend washing your Turtle Mats regularly (monthly) to improve the absorbency of your mat and to ensure the area under the mat can be cleaned and aired Tumble dry on low heat setting or allow to dry naturally. Check the filters on your machine as directed by the washing machine manufacturer Large mats are heavy when wet and we recommend when washing in a domestic machine you check the load limit on your machine Never place your Turtle Mat on a damp floor Lift and launder your mat regularly If after trying this you are still experiencing issues, please email info@turtlemat.co.uk for the attention of myself and I will be happy to help.
