Product Description The second boot released in our ConsTruct range, the Wychwood is a classic logger boot, built in a Tricker’s style, in Horween Chamois leather, with a Ridgeway sole. It’s also Goodyear welted with a Barbour welt, making it durable and moisture resistant. Available in Navy, Fudge and Black Horween Chamois leather, this Wychwood boot features tonal stitch, six brass eyelets, leather built in pull tab and a natural edge finish, with a spare brown/yellow lace included, these boots not just built for the job, but also eye catching. The Inspiration Logger boots are designed to be worn by workers in the logging and forestry industry, hence the name They are used to work through forests, brush, woodland, and other types of undergrowth, and to aid in any climbing needed. We listened to our customers all over the world, from farmers to foresters, and decided to create the Wychwood - a stylish, Tricker’s way to take on the mud and muck that can be common in animal pens, open fields and farmland. The Leather The Horween Tannery in Chicago, USA was founded in 1905 and is the oldest tannery in the United States. Horween leathers employ traditional tannages and techniques, carefully updated with modern applications. Their leathers are still made by hand, as they always have been. Chamois is the original oiled nubuck and a Horween classic. The velvety snuffed grain of the Suede base is generously nourished with a rich blend of natural oils to create a rich, oily feel and a natural look. The heavily oiled finish creates a protective barrier against the elements. It's an extremely low maintenance leather that requires very little aftercare and is typically comfortable straight from the box. Sizing The Wychwood is handmade on Tricker’s 4497S last, which is also used for our iconic Stow boot. This last was created in 1937 to celebrate the coronation of King George VI. Produced by Springline - Britain’s only remaining last maker and an expert in their field - this last is true to UK size (see our size guide for international conversions). The Wychwood is made to a Tricker's Width Fit 5, suitable for standard width feet. In the UK this standard width is known as an F fitting; in the USA it is known as a D fitting; in other parts of the world, it is known as an M (medium) or R (regular) fitting. As all Tricker's boots are designed to be worn with thick socks, people with slightly wider feet can usually wear our Fit 5 boots with thinner socks. In Use The Wychwood is a heavyweight, sturdy boot with great grip, ideal for use in the field, forest, countryside, wintry fan trips to a sports stadium or even in an industrial environment. But that doesn’t mean it’s only for heavy use! For many years we’ve seen our customers wearing our traditional country boots in town, where their blend of comfort and style has been a firm favourite from Tokyo DJs to London creatives. The blend of stylish finish with rugged functionality encapsulates the individuality of the Tricker’s wearer. The Wychwood is an exclusive boot that you can only buy here on trickers.com. Built to Last As with all Tricker’s shoes and boots, each pair of Wychwood boots are handmade within our Northampton factory in England by Tricker’s craftsmen and craftswomen using traditional methods, and to the same exacting standards that first established our reputation centuries ago. There are over 260 processes used to make each pair by hand from start to finish. Every material used in the construction of these boots can be traced back to its source. Tricker’s uncompromising standards of craftsmanship, honest materials, environmentalism and sustainability are values that have been preserved and developed through five generations of the Tricker’s family-owned business. With care and repair, these Wychwood boots can last you a lifetime. We often find ourselves repairing, resoling or reheeling shoes that are more than 50 years old and we offer this service by post to anywhere in the world.
