I am sorry that you feel so negatively about Seafarer. I responded to you personally at some length having carefully invesigated what happened. I certainly did not intend to come accross as unsympathetic and having had no further response from you, assumed that my offer of a future discount by way of apology for any shortcomings identified was acceptable to you.
Having reviewed the correspondence and reports a second time, I have not changed my verdict that the windlass failure was self inflicted through inapproriate use. This was a unit that was no more than 2 weeks old and in perfect working order when the yacht was prepared for you. During your charter, the unit was damaged beyond repair and the cost of replacement was almost €2000. Whilst I don't doubt your experience as sailors and boat owners, ot appears that you or members of your party were not familiar with the intricacies of Mediterranean stern-to mooring or using the electric windlass correctly. After the failure, our flotilla crew provided support and mooring assistance and the unit was replaced as soon as it was delivered. You also had a kedge anchor wich could have been depoyed easily for swim stops etc. during those couple of days.
As a human sized company, one of our greatest strengths is our personal service (which many clients tell us is second to none) whilst I as the MD respond to the thankfully few complaints we receive personally.

Thank you for your valued feedback. We do indeed offer a varied range of models to suit all budgets. Your yacht was a 2017 model and I can advise that we have several new boats joining the fleet for 2023, whilst the earlier models will be comprehensively refurbished this winter. The Covid period left us with a number of challenges including supply problems with spares and disruption to our staffing. Thankfully that is all in the past and for 2023 our fleet will be significantly upgraded.
