You cannot purchase this product without a Rodent Control Certificate or without being a member of a Farm Assurance scheme: Rodex Excel blocks 8kg are palatable to rats and have a hole through the centre that allows the blocks to be securely anchored in a bait station. They are approved for use in and around buildings. Each bait block weighs 20g and its design encourages the rodents natural desire to gnaw. Also contained is a unique chocolate attractant and 50ppm of the second generation anticoagulant bromadiolone. Place Rodex Excel where there are signs of rodent activity such as fresh droppings, inside or near burrows, runways or rodent feeding areas. Place the bait throughout the infested area. To control rats use bait points containing up to 10 blocks and place 10 metres apart. For high infestations this should be reduced to 5 metres apart. To control mice use bait points containing 2 blocks and place 5 metres apart. For high infestations this should be reduced to 2 metres apart. This bait must be protected against access by non-target species. Wherever possible use a lockable bait station. Where this is not possible place in trays in sections of drainage tube, or under sections of slate, board or corrugated iron. Secure baits so they cannot be removed by rodents. This can be achieved by wiring or nailing the blocks in place. If all the bait has been eaten from a specific area increase the number of baiting points. Do not increase the bait point size as this could pose a risk to wildlife. When using bromadiolone baits the rodent will often die out of sight in a burrow or nest.
